Carlos Alcaraz won the 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Singles championship after defeating Novak Djokovic with a respectful score. What more amazing is that Carlos became a world champion at the age of only 20.

In the fifth set, Novak Djokovic lost his cool and smashed his racket on the net post in front of the chair umpire in a fit of rage. The 2023 Wimbledon men’s final was always going to be a close match between the world’s two best players.

The match ebbed and flowed between them, with Djokovic claiming the first set before falling 2-1. Djokovic had never faced a 2-1 set deficit in a Wimbledon final before, despite dominating most of the time.

Djokovic’s only defeat on Centre Court came in 2013 when Andy Murray defeated him. But Alcaraz pushed Djokovic all the way, and the Serb was always on the verge of losing his cool.

Earlier in the match, the 23-time Grand Slam champion vented his concerns to umpire Fergus Murphy about the time clock for his serves. However, it was the crowd’s overwhelming backing for Djokovic that enraged the Serb once more.

It was obvious who the audience was rooting for to win the match as the action entered a fifth set. Every Alcaraz victory was met with thunderous applause, and in the third set when serving, Djokovic succumbed to that energy.

The Spaniard broke Djokovic and regained control of the match by hitting a spectacular winner past the Serb. After losing his composure, Djokovic vented his anger on the net post next to the umpire’s chair.
