The opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games will take place on Thursday (July 28) at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, England. This is the 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games. More than 5000 athletes from 72 countries will compete for medals in 20 different sporting events. Birmingham is hosting it for the first time.
Stars like Neeraj Chopra, PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Ravi Dahiya, Bajrang Punia, Hima Das, Lovlina Borgohain, Nikhat Zareen, Mirabai Chanu and Lakshya Sen are part of Team India going to Birmingham. Whereas in the team event, India’s hockey teams and women’s cricket team will be part of such an event for the first time.

Commonwealth Games 2022 will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network. In which Sony TEN 1, Sony TEN 2, Sony TEN 3, Sony SIX, and Sony TEN 4 channels will be available. Live streaming of all major events will also be done on SonyLIV app.
Will the Games be telecast on DD National as well?
Yes, apart from Sony Network, these games can be seen on Doordarshan. However, unlike Sony, not all matches will be telecast here. Doordarshan will telecast matches of Indian players only.
