Shaquille O’Neal once paid for the meals of a full restaurant, although most of us feel like major ballers after buying a round at the bar.
The extremely kind act was thought of by the former NBA player, who paid the full “well over $25,000” tab and even added a sizable tip. When Shaq showed up on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Jue Lan Club in New York, everyone dining there struck absolute gold.
The 7ft 1 guy was with an unidentified woman; a diner told Page Six he’d overheard her calling her as ‘my date’.
Shaq reportedly enjoyed some chicken, prawn tempura, and Beijing-style cuisine, with his date placing the orders and the former LA Lakers player handling the payment.
He then proceeded to cover the bill for 40 tables, with a source saying: “And to top that off, he paid for everyone’s check [who was] dining at the restaurant.”
He reportedly gave the employees “the biggest tip they’ve ever received” and was “extremely generous.”
The 52-year-old urged staff not to tell customers until he departed because he didn’t want to turn his gesture into a song and dance and wanted to keep the whole affair private.
Shaw wants his children to live on their own
Despite having a net worth of over $400 million, Shaq has made it pretty obvious that his children will not get by on their own.
He urged his six children to work hard for whatever they acquire and to not live off of his money during an appearance on the Earn Your Leisure podcast.
“My kids are older now. They kinda upset with me – not really upset – but they don’t understand,” he said.
“Because I tell them all the time. We ain’t rich. I’m rich.
“You’ve got to have Bachelor’s or Master’s [degrees] and then if you want me to invest in one of your companies, you’re going to have to present it… bring it to me, I’ll let you know. I’m not giving you nothing.”

Although he made millions on the court, O’Neal is keen for his kids to be involved in other projects.
He added: “There’s one rule: education. I don’t care if you play basketball. I don’t care about none of that.
“Listen, I got six kids. I would like a doctor, somebody to own a hedge fund, a pharmacist, a lawyer, someone that owns multiple businesses, someone to take over my business.
“But I tell them I’m not going to hand it to you. You gotta earn it.”
