Zinedine Zidane has shown again why he is the best midfielder of all time after demonstrating fantastic skills against Porto Legends in a charity match.
During a Real Madrid Legends match against Porto Legends, Zinedine Zidane displayed his class.
The annual charity match was held at the Bernabeu, with the earnings going to the Real Madrid Foundation’s other projects as well as the fight against ALS, a fatal motor neuron disease.
Superstar players like Steve McManaman, Zidane, Raul, Roberto Carlos, and Luis Figo were all part of Real Madrid’s lineup.
And even though Marek Cech, a former Slovakian star, scored from close range to give Porto the lead after eight minutes, Zidane reminded everyone of his elegant balletic grace on the football ground.
The 51-year-old Frenchman dazzled the Bernabeu supporters with a number of daring touches and flicks, seemingly turning back the clock.
Additionally, once a video of Zidane’s performance went viral, a number of fans pointed out similarities between the Frenchman and Real Madrid’s current No. 5 player, Jude Bellingham.
An X user wrote: “All I see is Bellingham man.”
Another said: “STOP THAT JUDE BELLINGHAM!”
One person audaciously added: “How is this 51-year-old man playing better than Jude Bellingham.”
After moving from Juventus to Real Madrid in 2001, Zidane played a pivotal role for Los Blancos throughout the final five years of his career.
In 230 games for the Spanish powerhouses, he scored 49 goals, including the game-winning goal in the 2002 Champions League final.
Following an incredible playing career in which the World Cup winner was hailed as one of the best midfielders of all time, Zidane took over as manager of Real Madrid in 2016.
Prior to retiring in 2021, he won three Champions League trophies and two La Liga crowns during his two terms as Real Madrid’s manager.
Some have compared Bellingham’s Real Madrid efforts this season to those of Zidane; the England international has 16 goals and three assists in his 22 La Liga games played thus far.
