Zinedine Zidane is set to leave Real Madrid this season
Zinedine Zidane has given a confirmation statement about his future at Real Madrid. He is all set to quit the club at the end of the season.
The Frenchman was appointed as Madrid’s head coach in 2016. He then led Los Blancos to three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles.
Zidane resigned as head coach in 2018 returned to management in 2019 after Santiago Solari was sacked.
In his six year spell at Santiago Bernabeu, he won some major trophies. He has won a La Liga title, a Spanish Super Cup, two UEFA Super Cups and two FIFA Club World Cups.
However, the 48 year old has failed to win any trophy this season. The main reason behind his downfall is Madrid’s injuries.
His statement reads: “We have given everything on the pitch and I am responsible for that.
“But with time I will be calm and I will talk to the club, and in the next few days we will see.
“We will see what will happens shortly. Not only with me, with everything the club is going to do for the next season.”
Antonio Conte is a potential replacement for Zidane. The 51 year old has left Inter Milan after winning the Scudetto this season.
