According to a fresh claim, Luka Modric will quit Real Madrid when his contract expires next summer.
The Croatian joined Los Blancos from Tottenham in 2012, and despite being rated La Liga’s “worst signing,” he went on to become one of the division’s finest players of the modern era.
Modric, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2018, has also won five Champions League titles with Real and has been a key member of their midfield for almost a decade.
Before signing a contract extension in June, there were uncertainties about whether the midfielder, now 38, would stay at the club this season. He has only started six La Liga games this season, but he has been a regular in the Champions League.
According to Sport, Modric is in “his final months as a Real Madrid player,” and the club is preparing for next season without the renowned Croatian international.
According to the source, the midfielder’s role seems to be of little importance with the emergence of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, as well as the return of Dani Ceballos.
However, considering his expertise and the current injuries in the Real Madrid squad, manager Carlo Ancelotti is thought to want to keep Modric until the end of the season.

Modric’s representative confirmed to shoot last month that the player had received bids from the Saudi Pro League in the summer and had kept the door open to a move there in the future.
He said: “This summer there was interest in Modric with the aim of signing him.
“The player has several offers, from a club in the capital and another club. Modric is currently thinking about Real Madrid, but the idea of him moving to the Saudi Pro League is possible if the offer is suitable.”
The midfielder said earlier this season that he was dissatisfied with his playing time at Real, but that it would not impair his dedication to the squad.
“No one is happy when they don’t play,” he told Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti. “After my entire career [starting], that feeling is especially strange to me.
“But well, the coach has decided for his own reasons. I won’t sink or ease off because of that. The opposite.”
