Euro 2020 matches at Wembley set to have full capacity
The test results of the fans who attended the FA Cup final between Leicester City and Chelsea at Wembley were all negative.
The European Championships are set to feature some trial events – with Wembley set to host 90,000 fans.
England will play group stage matches against Croatia and Czech Republic at Wembley, which will also host both semi-finals and the final.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has no issues with the proposed abandoning of social distancing. On the other side, cabinet minister Oliver Dowden has given his opinions over this proposal:
“I hope by June 21 we will be lighting up the West End again, having full stadiums and bringing light and Technicolor back into our national life again”.
Wembley was about to operate around 22,500 (25%) capacity for games. However, the news of packed stadiums will be a welcome boost to the nation ahead of the tournament.
Gareth Southgate will announce England’s final squad for Euro 2020 today. He is ready to include more than 30 players before the deadline (1 June 2021).
England will play a friendly match against Romania on 6 June before heading their steps towards the Euro 2020 trophy.
