Cole Palmer scored in Chelsea’s exciting Premier League match against Wolves, giving him a strong early contender for goal of the season.
Chelsea’s second Premier League match of the new season took place on Sunday in the Midlands against Wolves, and it was highly entertaining.
A thrilling end-to-end match was in store for both spectators and indifferent parties in the first half. A header from Nicolas Jackson gave Chelsea the lead after just 90 seconds.
Wolves came back strong, and shortly before the half-hour mark, Matheus Cunha scored the equalizer after an incredible run by Rayan Aït-Nouri, a target for Liverpool.
However, Palmer’s finish gave his team the lead again. With a superb move upfield to Nicolas Jackson, the Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez started a counterattack. Jackson then hooked the ball over the defender’s head and into Palmer’s path.
The England star scored a first-time curling goal that looped over Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa and into the net after he saw that the keeper was off the line.

Even though it’s only the second game, the goal will undoubtedly be a contender for the season.
Chelsea’s happiness was short-lived, though, as the hosts leveled the score at 2-2 just before halftime thanks to a goal from Jørgen Strand Larsen.
The second half started off in the same furious manner as the first; minutes after the interval, Chelsea led 3-2 thanks to a strike from Noni Madueke.
