The Italy squad for Euro 2024 will aim to retain the title they took home from Wembley three years prior.
Manager Luciano Spalletti has made a provisional announcement on the Italy Euro 2024 roster, with 30 players making up his first squad.
There will be a lot of pressure on the Italy Euro 2024 team to perform well in Germany as the Azzurri attempt to retain their European title this summer.
The Italians also appear completely different from the squad that triumphed at Wembley Stadium three years prior. Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, two club mainstays, have both moved on, while Luciano Spalletti has taken Roberto Mancini’s place in the dugout.
The former Napoli title-winning manager will still have a wealth of experience and quality to choose from when choosing his starting lineup for Euro 2024.
Therefore, just because the Italy Euro 2024 team may have a different look, doesn’t mean they should be written off.
Although they are grouped with Spain, Croatia, and Albania in what is perhaps the most difficult group for Euro 2024, the Azzurri may not be as good as they were three years ago, but they also weren’t the favourites.
