England defeated Austria 1-0 in a warm-up match for UEFA Euro 2020
England and Austria are all set to start their UEFA Euro 2020 campaign from 13 June. Before that, they faced each other in a friendly warm-up match and England took the victory by 1-0.
Both the nations would be searching for a victory in their second and last warm-up match to boost their morale and confidence before kicking off for Euros in style.
Gareth Southgate gave a chance to Jesse Lingard to prove himself. Despite being left out of the squad, he might start against Romania on 6 June.
Southgate has trimmed his squad down from 33 to 26 the day before this game. Lingard is the one of those 7 unlucky players, who aren’t included in the squad.
Talking about the Euro 2020 campaign, England will face Croatia in their first group stage match on 13 June.
England is in ‘Group D’ with Croatia, Czech Republic and Scotland.
