If he signs with Real Madrid, Trent Alexander Arnold will receive a salary of £100 million.
During the current transfer window, the European champions were prepared to spend £20 million to acquire the 26-year-old right-back from Liverpool.
However, it is thought that Real Madrid chose to formally express interest in him as a calculated move to eventually get him for free in the summer.
And if Alexander-Arnold signs a contract for Real, he will be paid an incredible amount. The England right-back’s weekly salary at Anfield is £180,000, and Real is willing to give him a significant rise.
The signing-on charge, however, will be the true money-spinner.
Kylian Mbappe committed to a £128 million golden hello when he joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, with the money being paid throughout his five-year contract. That was on top of £12.8 million in annual salary, or about £250,000 a week.
Alexander-Arnold will rank among the highest-paid footballers in the world, despite not being able to equal Mbappe’s £192 million total deal.
According to Spanish reports, the Reds academy graduate has informed Anfield executives that he wants to join Real after 20 years with the team and take on a new challenge.

However, according to Merseyside insiders, the team disputes this and is still attempting to sign Alexander-Arnold to a new contract, along with other out-of-contract players Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
William Saliba of Arsenal is reportedly a target for Real Madrid as well. But last month, the Frenchman handed Mikel Arteta a boost by promising the Gunners his long-term future.
“I feel at home here,” he insisted.
