Here we give you the opinions given by the two GOAT over Major League Soccer

Major League Soccer, simply known as MLS, is America’s first division football league and it has become quite popular even across the whole Europe. However, European fans doesn’t want their ‘football’ to be called ‘soccer’ since they kind of hate that word.

Leaving this debate behind, we are here to talk about the opinions of two of the greatest football players ever lived. Without further ado, let’s know about the opinions given by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi over MLS.

In 2016, Ronaldo was asked by the GQ about his views and opinions on playing in MLS. This is what he said:

“I know that many players move there. I think it’s becoming better and better. It’s growing. I think it’s good. It’s good for me and young players that maybe one day we want to move there. So it’s good that football—‘soccer’—grows there.”

“I mean, what’s happening there is great, it’s fantastic—maybe in the future will be a good chance for me to play there. You never know, but it’s something interesting. I consider it, of course, because as I’ve said, soccer there has become better and better, so why not? I think that this is maybe going to be possible.”

In 2020, Messi said in an interview with La Sexta’s Jordi Evole:

“I always had the dream of being able to enjoy and have the experience of living in the United States, experience what the league there is like, but not yet.”

We all want these two to finish their career on the highest note. But let’s consider the possibility of them playing in the MLS, of course not now or in the near future, perhaps around three or four years later.

After achieving, breaking and creating every possible record in their career, if they decide that MLS could be their final destination, then the possible outcomes of that would be like the follwing:

  • They will be a revolution in the American soccer/football, not to mention the popularity will increase rapidly.
  • We would have a chance to watch the greatest rivalry in football history for the last time.
  • Most importantly, we would have a chance of watching them play in 2026 World Cup as it’s mainly hosted by USA.
