Eight first-team players of Juventus are rumoured to have received word that they are no longer wanted by the organisation.

The Italian powerhouses came in third in Serie A the previous season, some 23 points behind Inter, the eventual league leaders.

Massimiliano Allegri was replaced as manager by Thiago Motta, and the Italian coach appears to be making quick work of it.

These are the eight Juventus players

Motta and his group have informed eight players in his squad that they are free to leave Turin this summer, according to trade guru Fabrizio Romano. The most well-known player is Federico Chiesa, who has previously been connected to a transfer to the Premier League.

The other seven names in the report are Wojciech Szczesny, Weston McKennie, Mattia De Sciglio, Arthur Melo, Filip Kostic, Hans Nicolussi-Caviglia, and Daniele Rugani.

“We are convinced this is the best decision possible”, Thiago Motta said when quizzed on his bold call.

“Yes, Chiesa’s absence is related to the market.

“This is both for Federico and for the others who remained in Turin, with the exception of Miretti who is injured.

“We made it clear after speaking with all the lads. We have strong players, accustomed to continuity.

“At this moment the club is looking for solutions elsewhere, they must find them as soon as possible for everyone’s sake.

“We are also convinced that we are preparing well for the season.

“I reiterate what I said and I will not add anything else on this matter.”

This summer, the new Juventus manager has approved several arrivals, the most well-known of which is the Brazilian Douglas Luiz, who is leaving Aston Villa.

Khephren Thuram was also brought in from Nice as the Italian team looks to reverse the recent success of Inter Milan. On August 19, the Old Lady will play their first game in Serie A at home against the recently promoted Como.
