Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara has reportedly agreed to sign a new deal with Al-Nassr
According to El Nacional, Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara is likely to join Al-Nassr, where he will play with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane. Other elite players at the Saudi Pro League (SPL) club include Aymeric Laporte and Marcelo Brozovic.
Al-Nassr, led by Portuguese coach Luis Castro, has been on a star-studded recruitment spree, adding top-tier talent to their team in an attempt to dethrone league champions Al-Hilal.
With Neymar, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves, and other talents at Al-Hilal, competition in Saudi Arabia’s top flight has reached new heights.
Thiago Alcantara, who has been troubled by injuries recently and has not played for Liverpool this season, appears to be on the verge of a new beginning.
Alcantara, who is struggling to find his position in Jurgen Klopp’s plans, is unlikely to reclaim a key role at Anfield, especially given the club’s summer acquisition of new talent.
Liverpool is apparently unwilling to prolong his contract, which is slated to expire in June 2024. The objective is to release Thiago in January and seek financial recompense, however small. As a result, Thiago appears to be heading to Saudi Arabia, specifically Al-Nassr.
Thiago would be reunited with Sadio Mane, a former Liverpool colleague, and Aymeric Laporte, a Spanish national team compatriot, in this intriguing transfer.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been lighting up the Saudi Pro League with his presence, remains the major attraction. Thiago’s move to Al-Nassr will give the midfielder a fresh start while also elevating the high-profile league’s standing as a global football destination.
