Here are some facts you need to know about Mehdi Taremi
Mehdi Taremi is an Iranian striker born on 18 July, 1992 in Bushehr, Iran. His father’s name is Alireza Taremi and his mother whose identity is unknown. His older brother Mohammad Taremi is also a football player.
Childhood
Mehdi started playing football for the youth team of Bargh Bushehr and Iranjavan. He played football and practiced on the football fields in the hot weather of Bushehr.
Career
In 2010, he joined Shahin Bushehr where he played 8 games and scored one goal in all competitions. He joined Iranjavan in 2013, on a two-year contract until the end of the 2014-15 season.
He became the Azadegan League top goalscorer in 2013-14 season. In 2014, he joined Persepolis FC on a two-year contract until June 2016.

On 1 August 2014, he made his debut against Naft Tehran. He scored his first goal for the club in against Zob Ahan.
He won the Best Striker Award of the 14th Persian Gulf Pro League at the end of the 2014-15 season.
In 2017, the club lifted its 10th Iran Pro League title. Mehdi became the top scorer for a second consecutive season with 18 goals.
In the 2017-18 season, he was banned for four months. This happened because of a contract dispute with Turkish club Caykur Rizespor dating back to June 2016. Actually the player reached an agreement to join the club and later returned to Persepolis.
Taremi won the Persian Gulf Pro League in 2017 and Iranian Super Cup with Persepolis in the same year. He signed an 18-month contract with the Qatari club Al-Gharafa in 2018.
He scored his first goal in the first match of the 2018 AFC Champions League against UAE’s Al Jazira. Playing in Qatar, he scored the first scored goal in the league against Al Kharaitiyat SC, winning 2017-18, 2018-19 Qatari Stars Cup with the club.
He signed a two-year contract with Portuguese football club Rio Ave in 2019. He scored a hat-trick in his debut start for the club against C.D. Aves.
In the 2019-20 season, he won the Primeira Liga Top Scorer and Rio Ave Player of the Season award. FC Porto signed him for a four-year contract in 2020.
Taremi scored his first league goal for Porto against Portimonense. He won his first European medal by winning the 2020 Supertaca Candido de Oliveira trophy with Porto.

The 28 year old has represented Iran at U20, U23, and the senior level. On 11 June 2015, he made his international debut in a friendly match against Uzbekistan. He scored his first senior goal, a brace, against Guam in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Since his debut, he has made more than 40 appearances and scored more than 20 goals for the Iran national team. He won the 2016, 2017 Iranian Footballer of the Year.

Mehdi got married to his girlfriend, Sahar Ghoreishi in 2017 in a private ceremony. They both are living their life happily together.
