Marco Verratti is an Italian mid-fielder born on 5 November 1992 in Pescara, Italy. His father’s name is Fabrizio Verratti and mother is Lidia Cremonese. He has two sons – Tommaso Verratti and Andrea Verratti and also a brother – Stefano Verratti.
Childhood
Marco Verratti’s passion for football and his clear talent persuaded his parents to sign him up for a trial at Pescara youth academy. He passed the trial with ease and impressed his coaches.
He stayed at the academy till 2010 when he got called up to the senior team. It was the start of his professional career at the age of 15 and 9 months. His footballing idol during his early years was Juventus legend, Alex Del Pierro and Juventus was his favorite team.
Career
Marco Verratti’s professional career started in 2011 as he was promoted to Pescara senior side. Despite his young age, he continued to perform at a high level consistently and became a starter later in the season.
He was chosen as the best player of Serie B and won The 2012 Bravo Award for the best player under the age of 21 in Europe. Overall, Verratti scored 2 goals and assisted 11 times in 79 games for Pescara.
In 2012, Marco signed a five year contract with Paris Saint Germain. He made his debut for PSG against Lille in September 2012.
At the end of his second season, he was voted as the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year and included in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year for 2013–14. In September 2014, he scored his first goal for PSG in a 3-2 win against Barcelona.
Verratti’s best stats of his first few seasons at PSG was in the 2016-17 season in which he scored 3 goals in 43 games across all competitions.
He has won many trophies with the club including 7 Ligue 1 titles as well as 5 Coupe de France and 5 France Super Cup. With a total of 22 titles, the Italian midfielder is the player with most trophies in the history of PSG.
Talking about his international career, Marco Verratti was included in Italy U19 team in December 2010. He also made his debut for the U20 team the following year and played 4 games for the U21 Italy side, followed by 7 games for the U21 team in 2012.
Verratti was first called up to Italy senior side in August of 2012 and made his debut in a 2-1 friendly loss against England. He has represented his country in the 2014 World Cup and 2016 UEFA European Championship.

Marco Verratti was in a long relationship with his first girlfriend, Laura Zazzara. Although never officially married, the couple had couple had two children together.
