Here are some facts you need to know about Franck Ribery
Franck Ribery (Full Name – Franck Henry Pierre Ribéry) is a French striker/winger born on 7 April, 1983 in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. His father’s name is Francios Ribery and mother is Marie-Pierre Ribéry. He has two brothers – Steevan Ribery and Francois Ribery.
Childhood
Franck Ribéry lived in a small town which had a bad community. His father was employed at the nearby pipeline laying firm.
When he was two years old, a horrific incident occurred to him in which he had a traffic collision with his parents – their car smashed into the truck.
The accident left not only marks in his brain but also on his forehead. Franck smashed his head against the windshield at the time of the car accident which gave him a scar on his face.
Doctors gave Ribéry recommendations for cosmetic surgery on his lip, but he declined thinking that the scars look good on a man.
His family’s financial situation wasn’t good which in turn had an impact on his sports career. He wasn’t able to go to sports school so he practiced in the concrete playground behind the property.
Ribery joined the Lille Football Academy at the age of twelve. In a matter of struggle, he had to cook and clean the kitchen and take care of his younger brothers and sisters as well.
Career
At the age of six, Franck Ribery started his football career when he first played in the youth division of the FC Conti de Boulogne-Sur-Mer amateur team.
In 1996, he joined Lille’s professional team (Lille played in second division at that time). Galatasaray was his first club as he was brought in by manager Gheorghe Hagi.
On 15 June 2005, Ribéry signed a five-year deal with Marseille. He soon made his debut in a 2-0 loss to Bordeaux. 17 September saw him score his first goal for the club in their 2-1 win over Troyes.
On 7 June 2007, Bayern Munich signed the superstar for a total fee of €25 million, club record at the time. He was given the number 7 shirt due to the retirement of midfielder Mehmet Scholl.
On 5 May 2019, Bayern announced that Ribéry will leave the club at the end of the season. Before goodbyes, he lifted his ninth Bundesliga title with the club on 18 May 2019.
Frank Robery became the Bundesliga’s all-time record champion with his ninth Bundesliga title.
In August 2019, Frank signed a contract with Fiorentina. He made his debut for the club on 24 August against Napoli.
