Here is the first time Cristiano Ronaldo did his ‘Si’ celebration
The trademark Cristiano Ronaldo celebration that we see today first came in 2014. The celebration was named ‘Si’ because of the word ‘Si’ (which means ‘Yes’) that Ronaldo say during the celebration.
People often ask how they should do Ronaldo’s celebration properly. Jumping high into the air and spreading both arms and legs while landing, that’s how you do a ‘Si’ celebration.
In 2014, Ronaldo scored two goals against Chelsea in UEFA Champions League. He did his ‘Si’ celebration after the second goal. After some time, his celebration changed a little and he then started to turn 180° while in the air.
“Well I was in the US & we played against Chelsea & I don’t know where it came from. I just scored & I went ‘Siii’.” Ronaldo on his celebration.

Mourinho criticized Ronaldo before the game. Ronaldo scored 2 goals and said after the game, “I do my talking on the pitch.”
Back in 2014, the Juventus star even shouted the word “si” on stage at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, claiming the award ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
“The scream? The players know I always do that shout when I score a goal or when we win. It’s our shout, from Real Madrid,” Ronaldo told Spanish TV station Cuatro at the time.
