Sergio Ramos could leave Real Madrid this summer
According to the reports, Sergio Ramos could leave Real Madrid this summer. Manchester City is seeking to sign him after the UEFA Euro 2020.
City is considering offering him a two-year contract if the defender doesn’t renew his contract at Real Madrid.
Ramos’ contract with Madrid will expires on June 30. He still wants to stay at the club but if things doesn’t go well with Florentino Perez, he will surely depart from Spain.
A meeting between Perez and Ramos will be held in next few days when a definitive decision will be taken, according to sources.
Real Madrid lost the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League semi-final against Chelsea. On the other side, City lost another chance to win their first ever UCL title.
If this transfer happens, City’s defense would be the best in Europe with Ruben Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker standing aside Ramos.
The 35 year old defender suffered a lot of injuries previous season. He made only 15 La Liga appearances and is left out of Spain squad for Euro 2020.
Madrid has signed David Alaba from Bayern Munich. He will be accompanied by Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy.
However, Varane’s future is also not stable at Santiago Bernabeu. His contract will expire in 2022.
