Kylian Mbappe is so close to joining Real Madrid as the club made its move following the deadline day
Could the Kylian Mbappe-Real Madrid transfer story finally be coming to an end? This story has had one twist after another throughout the years.
Earlier this summer, it appeared that the Frenchman was nearly set to depart PSG since he was unwilling to extend his contract there. So much so that he was left out of the club’s pre-season trip as well as their Ligue 1 debut team.
Following that, there appeared to be an abrupt change in the circumstances. Mbappe was reintroduced to the squad, and rumors circulated that a contract extension was no longer out of the question.
Of course, this was a setback for Real Madrid’s chances of acquiring Mbappe. The club may have remained silent over the summer, but it is no secret that the Frenchman is someone they have been pursuing for some time.
Now comes some surprising news. And it’s something no one could have predicted. It appears that Real Madrid is close to making a move for Mbappe.
Perez had stated that Mbappe made a last-minute decision to reject Madrid and remain with PSG. He said: “We didn’t sign any pre-contract or agreement with Kylian Mbappe because it’s not regular.
“Kylian Mbappe did not betray me. Mbappe told us his dream was to play for Real Madrid, many and many times. But then all changed in 15 days because of political & economical pressure. His dream had to change.”
Perez continued: “Macron called Mbappé, it makes no sense. PSG offered him to be the leader of the project, it changed everything. I didn’t see the same Kylian Mbappé that we wanted. Here, no one is bigger than Real Madrid. It won’t change.
“It was not easy for Mbappe to receive calls from the president of France… to tell you not to leave the club. Then go to Qatar and they offer things that drive you crazy, probably things out of proportion. This is why Kylian has changed.”
According to Vozpopuli, Real Madrid’s president has decided to make an offer to PSG for Mbappe. Los Blancos’ signing of the Frenchman might become official within hours, even this afternoon, but several snags remain.

It remains to be seen how accurate these rumors are. Few anticipate the club to make a blockbuster bid this late in the window, especially given the possibility of signing Mbappe as a free agent next summer.
