Real Madrid is ready to offer a €70 million deal to Liverpool in a move to sign their right-back Trent Alexander Arnold.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed in a significant update that Real Madrid is preparing a massive summer 2025 raid for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
A number of teams are keeping a close eye on the Liverpool full-back, and Los Blancos are keeping a careful tab on the player’s circumstances as well, given that his contract is scheduled to end in 2025.
Like they do with all elite players nearing their contract’s expiration, Real Madrid has always kept a watch on the England right-back’s circumstances.
The Spanish capital club, who will soon require a long-term solution for their right-back position, is also keeping a close eye on Alexander-Arnold.
Real Madrid respects the Liverpool star due to his established background as a winner of both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, his age of 25 years old, and his adaptability.
Dani Carvajal will be 33 years old when Alexander-Arnold’s contract expires in 2025, and Los Merengues feel that now would be the best moment to sign a player to gradually phase the Spaniard out and establish a succession plan.
Nevertheless, neither Real Madrid nor the player has made any contact thus far. Interest exists, but nothing is happening just yet.
No ongoing negotiations yet
The contract Alexander-Arnold has with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2025, as was previously reported. He hasn’t extended his contract with Liverpool thus far, and talks haven’t moved forward.
Since he is one of Liverpool’s star players, it is thought that they want to extend his contract, albeit the player’s intentions are still unclear at this time.
Naturally, there are rumours in Spain that he is being considered for release in fifteen months if he decides not to renew his contract.
Real Madrid would have a long-term solution at full-back if they were to sign Alexander-Arnold the following year in addition to Alphonso Davies, who is expected to arrive this summer.
However, Alexander-Arnold’s contract will likely be renewed by Liverpool, so things will have to wait and see how things work out.
