Rumor has it that Arsenal has made an offer for Eduardo Camavinga, and Real Madrid is also considering a move for Man Utd prodigy Kobbie Mainoo.
Last season, Mainoo made three appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions. This season, his ascent has been swift, and the 18-year-old is now a vital member of Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup.
The midfielder, who was born in Stockport, has started 17 Premier League games and netted two goals, including a spectacular effort against Liverpool over the weekend. In March, he was awarded his first England cap.
According to an allegation made in the Spanish newspaper Don Diario that Mainoo’s performances have “amazed” Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, other clubs throughout Europe are now taking notice of his abilities.
Mainoo is reportedly Perez’s “new Camavinga on his radar” as Los Blancos get ready for the probable loss of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
In recent years, Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, and Aurelien Tchouameni have given Real Madrid excellent substitutes for the two seasoned players.
Real Madrid is hoping to counteract the “extremely painful” loss of Kroos and Modric by adding Mainoo, who is “already surprising everyone” at Manchester United this year.
Although replacing the German and Croatian will be “practically impossible,” Real Madrid president believes the Manchester United young player is “a very interesting signing.”
The Man Utd starlet has “been on his [Perez] agenda for a long time” after demonstrating that he is “ready to do great things,” and Camavinga and Mainoo “have the same representative.”
Mainoo is “one of the best players” in Ten Hag’s lineup, if not the best, according to recent comments made by former Manchester United defender Wes Brown.
Brown told the PA news agency: “He’s someone the club have always held in high regard. The way injuries have gone this season, it’s possibly forced their hand to put him in, but he’s also had to earn it.
“Once he’s got in, he’s been one of the best players in the team, if not the best. Gareth obviously sees the potential in him, and I think it’s good for him that he’s put in with the (England) boys to see how he reacts in training, and he might even get a game as well.
“With the confidence he has for such a young age, and the way he’s playing, he’s definitely earned the right to be in the squad.”
The past few days have seen reports associate Camavinga with a move away from Real Madrid, with Arsenal reportedly expressing a strong interest.
The France international is reportedly the target of an offer from Arsenal of €110 million (£94 million), and Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, “wants” to bring Camavinga to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
Real Madrid doesn’t want the 21-year-old to leave because they “believe that he is going to become the best midfielder in the world,” according to the source, but Arsenal is reportedly “optimistic” that they may sign the player.
