Two Manchester United greats and a current Liverpool star are included in Phil Foden’s all-time Premier League starting lineup.
Foden picked six past and present Man City players in his star-studded side.
Three of them comprise the backline, which also includes Vincent Kompany, who won four league titles while playing at the Etihad, and current players Ederson and Kyle Walker.
On Walker, Foden told The Daily Mail: “I’m serious though, I don’t see another right back.”
The back four is completed by former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.
Over the years, Foden and Van Dijk have faced off in league title matches between Man City and Liverpool, including this season when both sides are strongly involved.
After his successful tenures at Arsenal and Chelsea, Cole is recognized as the greatest left-back in Premier League history.
David Silva, a former Man City player, completes his starting lineup, sitting next to the legendary Patrick Vieira of Arsenal, who also played for Man City.
“I feel like [Silva] needs that protection, so it’s a good balance,” he explained.
Thierry Henry of the Gunners and Cristiano Ronaldo of Man United take up each wing.
Teammate Kevin De Bruyne is out of room, but the England international says he has “never seen anything like” the standout midfield player when he is on the field.
Foden chose Sergio Aguero, a former Manchester City attacker who set a club record with 260 goals during his stint with the Blues, and Wayne Rooney, another great of Manchester United, up top.
Rooney earned five league titles while playing at Old Trafford, where he also scored one of his finest goals against Man City. Between his stints at Everton and Manchester United, he scored 208 Premier League goals in all.
