Neymar is expected to take center stage in the months preceding the summer transfer window. His comeback to the Brazilian national team and his return to Santos, where he is recovering his fitness, have brought him back into the public eye.
The 33-year-old Brazilian winger is undoubtedly keen to return to Europe in style in June, and Pini Zahavi, the agent who made it possible for him to join PSG, is already looking into his alternatives.
Zahavi has put Neymar’s name on the table at Bayern Munich and Barcelona, two teams with which he has close ties, according to SPORT. However, the Brazilian is not currently thinking about joining the Premier League.
Barcelona is currently focused on other important issues, so even though his representatives are urging a deal, the club is not giving this option priority. But the door isn’t completely shut.
Neymar wants a team that plays offensive football, contends for all the major prizes, and lets him make a spectacular comeback as one of the best players in the world. And it is Zahavi’s responsibility to locate such a team for him.
How close is Neymar to signing for Barcelona?
Zahavi is close to Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona. The agency assisted the latter in acquiring Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich during his first significant transfer window. He helped bring Hansi Flick to the Catalan club more recently.

Zahavi is fully aware, nevertheless, that it would be challenging to get Neymar back to Barcelona. Many people are dubious of him because of his recent deterioration, his acrimonious departure to PSG, and the legal disputes that have cost the team millions of dollars.
Neymar’s family is prepared to spend money to help him return to Barcelona because they think it’s the best place for him. But the club has the last say on the matter. Although he did not completely rule it out, Barcelona’s sports director Deco recently said that the team is not actively exploring the move.

The Brazilian might be the left-sided winger Deco is looking for, and that is his priority. But he would rather sign a player who is at the top of his game, and Luis Diaz of Liverpool is seen to be the perfect candidate.
Zahavi thinks Neymar might have a chance because of Barcelona’s precarious financial status. Importantly, the Brazilian would be willing to sign a one-year contract and would arrive as a free agent on good financial conditions.
This might be a stopgap measure until Barcelona’s finances are fully recovered.
