Manchester United are considering sacking Ole Solskjaer
On Sunday, Manchester United faced a frustrating defeat against Liverpool. They lost 0-5 to the visitors, with Mohamed Salah scoring a hattrick against them. Salah became the first away player to score a hattrick against United at the Old Trafford.
The reds conceded four goals in just first half of the game. Naby Keita, Diogo Jota, and Mohamed Salah (his first two goals) were the goalscorers before the half-time whistle.
United have lost five of their last nine games with zero domestic victory in their last four. Solskjaer signed a new contract with the club in the summer after leading United to second place in the Premier League and a Europa League final.
Interviewing Sky Sports, he said: “I do believe in myself, I do believe that I am getting close to what I want with the club.
“It’s mine [responsibly for the loss] – that’s it,” he added.
“The coaching staff are brilliant, and I choose the way we approach the game and today, we weren’t clinical enough going forward. There were spaces for both teams, and when you give good players spaces, they score.
“You can look back at last season when we lost 6-1 to Spurs – this is miles worse.
“The opposition as well, that makes it miles worse for me as a Manchester lad, and we have to get over this as quick as we can and move on.”
Antonio Conte is one of the options available to United if Ole gets sacked. In 2020/21 season, he led Inter Milan to their first Scudetto in last 10 years.
