Luka Modric has broken yet another record as he becomes the player with the most trophies in Real Madrid history.

When Luka Modric joined Real Madrid, he was almost 27 years old. He was chosen as the team’s worst acquisition of the season during his rookie campaign. After that, most players don’t come back. The Croatian, though, is more than just a footballer.

Ever since, he has solidified his place among the greatest of all time and captured the Ballon d’Or, an achievement he shared with only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo during their heyday.

This week, Modric created even more history with Real Madrid, which bolsters his argument in the debate of all-time greats. After winning the UEFA Super Cup, his 27th trophy, while wearing the Royal White jersey, he became the most decorated player in the club’s history. No one has achieved greater success.

Modric was supposed to depart Real Madrid this summer for a very long time because he was not playing much in the 23–24 season. However, Toni Kroos’ retirement meant that it was the appropriate thing for him to carry on. For me, to lose that kind of experience in a single summer was a mistake.

Luka Modric’s legacy continues

In less than two months, Modric will celebrate his 39th birthday. He is no longer a surefire starter for Real Madrid and is nearing the end of his career. Let’s use the football he still has in his tank.

Observing Modric in the Royal White shirt has been enjoyable. Before he hangs up the whistle and goes to retirement like Kroos, hopefully he can add to his already amazing prize chest.

Real Madrid will be prepared on that day. They are invariable. No other team could have lost players such as Raphael Varane, Marcelo, Casemiro, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos, and so many more in such a short time and still remain the top team in Europe.
