Sports Desk- Barcelona’s 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo left a bitter taste as there was a potentially crucial twist in the La Liga title race on Saturday. Barca led twice but were pegged back on both occasions, Celta grabbing an 88th-minute equaliser through captain Iago Aspas’ free-kick.
Luis Suarez at the double for Barcelona as he gave them two leads. Smolov levelled the first time around and then Aspas sent a curling free, low and inside the front post, to level it the second time.
Barcelona goes top of the standings for now with 69 points, but could fall behind by two points if Real Madrid can beat bottom-placed Espanyol on Sunday.
“The feeling is a negative one,” said Suarez afterwards. “If we want to stay in the title race and have it in our hands we have to win all our games. But we now have to rely on Madrid to drop points.”
