According to reports, Kylian Mbappe has already been selected between Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Frenchman’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is in doubt after he turned down a new deal with the Ligue 1 club in the summer.
As a result, he was forced to train separately from the first-team group, although he has since been reintegrated into the starting lineup and given the captain’s armband by new manager Luis Enrique.
However, the forward has been linked with several European teams, including Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool.
Real Madrid were thought to be the frontrunners to sign the 24-year-old, but they reportedly ended their chase earlier this month due to the excessive wage demands involved in a deal.
As a result, Arsenal and Liverpool may emerge as serious candidates for his signature.
The Gunners, however, appear to have the upper hand, according to The Independent, who report that if Mbappe were to go to the Premier League, the Emirates would be his first choice.
According to the source, he is intrigued by Mikel Arteta’s initiative in north London, which was also instrumental in signing Declan Rice from West Ham over the summer.
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was reportedly interested in signing Mbappe in 2017 while he was still playing for Monaco, submitting an £87 million proposal for the then-19-year-old.
However, the thought of playing alongside Neymar at PSG was too alluring for the kid.
“We were in touch in 2017. I’d chosen a different path, and he [Wenger] didn’t hold it against me. He was a gentleman and wished me good luck,” Mbappe said back in 2018.
