Joselu Mato has been added to Real Madrid’s website’s legends section despite having only played for the team for one entire season.
In 2023–24, Real Madrid achieved yet another historic season as they won their 15th Champions League trophy and their 36th La Liga championship.
Spanish striker Joselu, who returned to the team on loan from Espanyol at the beginning of the season after making a brief appearance in 2011–12, was crucial to their victory.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid has added the 34-year-old to its legends section on the club website after it was established that he will be joining Qatari Al-Gharafa instead of the Spanish champions.
Fans disagree over Joselu’s status as a club legend with players like Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Zinedine Zidane despite the fact that he has made 49 appearances, scored 17 goals, and assisted three others.
The major milestone in Joselu’s Madrid career that supporters will never forget was in May when the Spaniard scored two goals in the last minutes of the Champions League semifinal match against Bayern Munich after coming off the bench.
Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final, which they won thanks to Joselu’s crucial goals. The match took place at Wembley.

However, it was insufficient for the team to hang onto the player because they sold Joselu to Al-Gharafa for the same sum of money after exercising their €1.5 million option to purchase him from Espanyol.
In an effort to show gratitude to the player who would earn the biggest wage of his career in Qatar, this was done.
