Erling Haaland has been given the Bundesliga Player Of The Year ahead of Robert Lewandowski
On Tuesday, Erling Haaland was named the Bundesliga Player Of The Year ahead of Robert Lewandowski.
Fans are furious about this unfair decision according to them. They claim that Haaland has robbed Lewandowski for this award.
Lewandowski scored 48 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions while Haaland netted 41 times in this campaign.
However, the Poland captain fell short of Haaland in the fan-voted Bundesliga Player of the Year award.
After winning the trophy, Haaland tweeted:
“An honour to be awarded with the @Bundesliga_DE Player of the Season!
“An achievement not just for me but for the whole @BVB family. We won this award together!”

Many fans gave their opinions over this topic. Most of them were in favor of Lewandowski.
They have staunchly argued that Bayern’s striker has been ‘robbed’ of the award after shattering Muller’s longstanding record.
A user tweeted: “Lewandowski broke the goal scoring record and won the league this season. Lewandowski [was] robbed.”
Similar tweets were found to be praising Lewandowski and somehow it’s right to say that the 32 year old deserved the award.
The same misfortune happened to him in 2020 when he was robbed of the Ballon d’Or due to the COVID-19 situation.
