Robert Lewandowski restored his greatness by himself and rose to become a global icon
Robert Lewandowski, as we all know has won the FIFA Best Player of the year Award and is, for now doubt, the best striker in the world right now.
But Lewandowski wasn’t so great at first as he is today. He has struggled too much to attain the heights of being the best striker in the world. Let’s know how he rose to a global icon and restored his greatness.
Lewandowski was rejected by Legia and was left with no club to play for. His mother tried all possible efforts to make her son’s dream come true.
When Lewandowski recovered from his injury in 2006, Znicz Pruszków welcomed him in their team and it was the starting of rising of a global icon. The best time came when he led his team to win Polish third league after scoring 15 goals which made him legue’s top scorer. Legia was stunned and begged for a forgiveness to being back Lewandowski to his old club.
After many offers and negotiations, he decided to play for Borussia Dortmund where his journey of being as one of the best striker in the world began. In 2011-12 season, Lucas Barrios’ injury in Copa America left Jurgen Klopp with no way but to select Lewandowski in his playing eleven.
With his selection, Dortmund witnessed a better revolution. His killer instinct made Bayern Munich to sign him immediately and the rest is history. This was the story of rising of a global icon and best striker in the world.
