After scoring for Bayern Munich against Darmstadt yet again, Harry Kane has created a new record in the Bundesliga.
The captain of the Three Lions scored Bayern’s second goal against Torsten Lieberknecht’s team on Saturday, as the defending champions defeated them 5-2.
After Thomas Tuchel’s team fell behind early in the game, goals from Serge Gnabry, Mathys Tel, and Jamal Musiala ensured the win. Kane broke the record for the most goals scored in a Bundesliga rookie season when he scored in the 45th minute.
The former Spurs player has already reached his best-ever total during a single league season with his current total of 31.
Before leaving the Lilywhites in August 2023, the 30-year-old scored 280 goals in 432 games. Since then, Kane has kept up his incredible goal-scoring for Bayern, amassing an incredible 36 goals in 34 games across all competitions.
The former Tottenham forward also scored a hat-trick last week as Tuchel’s team defeated Mainz 8-1 in Bundesliga play.
In addition, England manager Gareth Southgate has summoned him up as the Three Lions get ready to play Brazil and Belgium in back-to-back internationals the following week.
Some had speculated that Kane would find it difficult to adjust to life at the Allianz Arena after departing so late in the transfer window.
That being said, Southgate has shown complete confidence in the Munich player and feels that a well-established career can only improve England’s chances this summer.
