Sports Desk – Spain’s National High Court has once again opened a cheating case against Barcelona Football Club star player Lionel Messi.
Federico Rettori, a former employee of a charity foundation, filed a case against Messi, her father, brother and other members in June over money laundering, fraud and other financial allegations related to the foundation. Rettori had alleged that the money that the charity had received from the charity had gone to the Messi’s family to fund the foundation.
Significantly, in September last year, the court closed the case against Messi for lack of evidence. But judge Maria Tardon of the National High Court, accepting Rettori’s appeal, ordered reopening of the case against Messi.
On Monday, Messi was awarded the Ballon d’Or Award (Golden Ball) for the sixth time by the French Football Magazine. But now the fraud case against them has reopened.
