The official job description for England manager is now available on the Football Association website.
Just a few days after the Three Lions were defeated 2-1 by Spain in the European Championship final, Gareth Southgate resigned as manager of England on Tuesday.
Southgate called his tenure as England manager the “honour of my life” after eight years in charge.
The 53-year-old declared that it was time “for a new chapter” following England’s historic defeat in the European Championship final during his final game in command.
The FA announced the appointment of the new “England Men’s Senior Team Head Coach” on their website following his resignation.
A UEFA Pro Licence, “significant experience of English football, with a strong track record delivering results in the Premier League and/or leading international competitions,” and “exceptional leadership” qualities are required of the chosen applicant. They must also be able to develop English-qualified players and be “highly resilient and comfortable in a very high-profile role.”

According to the job description, the manager for England has to: “1) Lead and develop the England senior men’s team to win a major tournament and be consistently ranked as one of the top teams in the world.
“2) Provide inspiring leadership to a world class, multi-disciplinary technical team based at St. George’s Park.
“3) Develop and maintain strong relationships with clubs who employ English qualified players.”
