According to sources in Spain, Pep Guardiola and his wife of thirty years, Cristina Serra, have broken up but are reportedly still on good terms.
The Spanish journalist who broke the shocking news has stated that Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, and his wife, Cristina Serra, did not split up because of a third party.
Overnight, Lorena Vazquez, a member of the well-respected reporting team known as the Mamarazzis in Spain, stated: “It’s been a carefully-considered decision the couple discussed over several months. They continue to have a cordial and affectionate relationship.
“No-one else is involved. There are no third parties. We are going to carry on seeing them together.”
She added after revealing the couple’s shock split: “They weren’t expecting any journalists or media outlets would confirm this break-up but I can assure you they’re living apart and only a small handful of people knew about this.”
When returning to the Catalan capital from Manchester, Guardiola, who has three grown children with his fashion boss wife, has always remained at an £8.5 million mansion in Barcelona’s most affluent area. Where he will base himself when he visits Barcelona in the future is yet unknown.

Rafa Marquez, the former Mexican centre-back for Pep, had owned the family property, which Cristina is anticipated to stay in. In February 2021, Guardiola bought a house from a Russian billionaire in Barcelona’s high area. It is believed that he paid a cool £8.4 million for it through a business he and his wife were managing.
The four-story home features a large swimming pool on its grounds and is located close to the Carretera de les Aigues, a six-mile stretch of dirt roads on the outskirts of Barcelona. The home itself is an astonishing 8,000 square feet, and the amount of land it covers is more than 22,000 square feet.
The Catalan press saw the June 2021 announcement of the house purchase as evidence that Guardiola might be preparing to return to Barcelona after Joan Laporta was elected as the city’s president. Two years after leaving Manchester to return to her hometown, Cristina Serra moved into the property.
El Confidencial described the mansion today as “the perfect place for a separation without anyone discovering when you leave or enter” although it insisted the couple had spent Christmas together at the property with their three children Maria, 24; Marius, 22; and 17-year-old Valentina. It added:
