Raheem Sterling, the Chelsea outcast, may surprise everyone by joining a second Premier League team.
In a £47.5 million transaction, Chelsea acquired Sterling from Manchester City two years ago. However, this week, the player received word that new coach Enzo Maresca would not be giving him much playing time this season.
After his representation issued a statement seeking clarification shortly after the winger was left out of Chelsea’s squad for their Premier League loss to City last weekend, Sterling spoke with club executives.
In addition, he was omitted from the Chelsea team that was presented to UEFA prior to their play-off triumph over Servette in the Conference League on Thursday.
The team has given Sterling’s No. 7 shirt to summer signing Pedro Neto and decided to offer him alternatives to aid his departure before next week’s transfer deadline.
Sterling’s enormous £325,000 weekly salary may make a transfer challenging, though it’s known the 29-year-old would accept a wage reduction in exchange for the right kind of project.
Giants in Serie A Both Aston Villa and Juventus are interested in Sterling. After placing fourth last season, the latter are hoping to hold their place among the elite clubs in the Premier League this year.
The Daily Mail claims that Crystal Palace has shown itself as an unexpected contender to provide Sterling with a way out of Stamford Bridge.

After losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich earlier this summer, the London team is eager to add a wide player. They may still be able to collect a sizable chunk of money by selling defenders Joachim Andersen and Marc Guehi before the transfer window ends.
According to the source, Oliver Glasner’s team is now determining whether or not a deal is possible.
Although Palace is a lower-league team than Chelsea, they may benefit from Sterling’s family’s London residency after he moved from City two years ago.
