For the first time since 2007, someone else was seen sporting the storied No. 7 jersey owned by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has spent the great bulk of his 22-year career playing club and international football wearing the recognizable shirt number.

But on Thursday, at the Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques, during Portugal’s friendly match versus Sweden, history was created.

Since CR7 is vacationing in Saudi Arabia with his family in order to recuperate and avoid injuries in advance of Euro 2024, he was not included in Roberto Martinez’s team.

As a result, Braga star Bruma wore his famous shirt number while the Al-Nassr superstar was away. With eight goals and six assists in 30 games in all competitions this season, the winger has excelled.

And as he assisted Portugal in winning 5-2, the 29-year-old’s new shirt number gave him luck. Bruma replaced Rafael Leao as he entered the game in the second half.
