John Murtough recently touted Casemiro to Saudi Pro League clubs, and it appears that the veteran Manchester United midfielder has found a buyer.
After receiving support from Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr is prepared to make a “huge offer” for Casemiro, the midfielder for Manchester United.
The 31-year-old Brazil international joined the Red Devils from Real Madrid in the summer of last year, and under Erik ten Hag, he soon became a significant role. However, this season, the veteran has struggled with form and health.
Since then, it has been revealed that United are willing to trade Casemiro for a sufficient amount of the £60 million they paid to acquire him in the summer, and Al-Nassr has surfaced as a possible destination for the multiple Champions League winner.
According to a recent claim from The Mail, the Saudi Pro League club is willing to make a hefty offer for Casemiro after Ronaldo persuaded them to do so.
United football director John Murtough recently touted Casemiro, who briefly played alongside Ronaldo at Old Trafford before the famous striker’s contract was terminated in November 2022, to Saudi Arabian clubs.
Murtough flew to the Gulf State last month in an attempt to pique the attention of several undesirable players, including Casemiro, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho.
Will Casemiro Join Al-Nassr?
Although it’s unclear if Casemiro would be willing to work with Ronaldo in Al-Nassr, his time there looks to be running out with the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The head of Ineos, who grew up a United supporter, will take over as full manager of the sporting departments at Old Trafford if his £1.25 billion transaction for a 25% share in the team is officially approved in the upcoming weeks.
Prior to pursuing partial ownership of the team, Ratcliffe was reported to have criticized United’s bad recruitment tactics, using Casemiro’s signing as an example. However, the player’s high wage has made it difficult to find a buyer for Ratcliffe.
The British billionaire is expected to approve an examination of the team’s hiring practices after pulling off a huge coup this past weekend when he signed Omar Berrada as the new chief executive, luring him away from Manchester City. Sir Dave Brailsford, sporting director of Ineos, will be in charge of the procedure.
Bigger changes are anticipated to occur in the summer, therefore it is unclear if there will be any transfer activity at Old Trafford before next week’s deadline.
