Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the highest international goalscorer
On Thursday, Portugal defeated Ireland 2-1 in World Cup qualifiers. Cristiano Ronaldo marked a record breaking performance again after he became greatest international goalscorer in football history.
Ronaldo broke Ali Daei’s record of 109 international goals tom achieve this record feat. He now have 111 international goals against many different countiers.
Talking about his two goals, he missed penalty in the first half but then scored his two goals in 89th and 90+6′ minute of the game.
The 36-year old is already the greatest goalscorer in football history. He has scored 785 goals since his first steps in this beautiful world of football.
“I’m so happy, not just because I beat the record, but for the special moment that we had,” Ronaldo told Sky Sports.
“I have to appreciate what the team did, we believed until the end. I’m so glad.”
Manchester United has re-signed their legend from Juventus and he will make his second debut for the Reds on 11 September against New Castle United.
