Argentina

Prior to their friendlies, Argentina revealed their tentative squad for the Copa America 2024, with Lionel Messi leading the team.

In the weeks leading up to the competition, Argentina, the defending champion, will play Ecuador on June 9 and Guatemala on June 14.

After the games, the 29-member team will eventually be reduced to 26 because CONMEBOL, the tournament’s organizing body, increased the team numbers this month from 23 to 26.

Messi earned his first international trophy with the Albiceleste in the most recent tournament, defeating fierce rival Brazil 1-0 in the championship match. Even though he is now 36 years old, the game’s goal scorer, Angel Di Maria, has also made the list.

Leo Messi, who guided Argentina to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, had been sidelined until last month due to a hamstring injury. However, he had made it clear that he intended to continue “delivering” for his nation throughout the continental competition.
