According to rumours, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes received a “astronomical offer” to leave Old Trafford in January.

Fernandes, 29, paid over £55 million to transfer from Sporting to United back in 2020. Since then, the midfielder has made 215 appearances for the team in all competitions, tallying 71 goals in the process.

With three goals and four assists this season, Fernandes has helped the Red Devils, who are presently residing in seventh place in the English football premier league.

With the fresh funding from local tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe, he will now be trying to lead United’s comeback.

The club has the option to extend his contract for an additional year, but his present deal is scheduled to expire in 2026. Despite this, they will probably try to keep him around longer.

The United captain is apparently the target of a ‘astronomical bid’ from a team during the January transfer window, so clubs all around the globe of football are still keeping an eye on his future.

As to the Record, Fernandes declined an offer last month from Al Hilal, a Saudi Pro League team, citing his ‘things to complete’ in Europe before his playing days ended.

With players like Neymar, Malcom, and Aleksandar Mitrovic already in their roster, Al Hilal hoped to bring Fernandes and current manager Jorge Jesus back together following their time together at Sporting CP.

Despite having their efforts thwarted in January, the Middle East’s interest is unlikely to fade. Nevertheless, the possible agreement will depend on Fernandes’ future plans.
