Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian has confirmed his wish to play for Barcelona.

Many players aspire to play for a club as large as Barcelona, especially after Lionel Messi’s achievements with the Spanish club. Estevao Willian, a Brazilian prodigy, has expressed his desire to play for the Blaugrana in order to follow in the footsteps of his idols.

Willian is one of the most exciting possibilities in Brazilian football right now, receiving interest from Europe. 16-year-old currently plays for Palmeiras with Real Madrid-bound Endrick and will almost certainly be in Europe when he turns 18 in 2025.

Willian recently talked about how he patterns his game after Lionel Messi in an interview with Mundo Deportivo. The child, nicknamed Messinho, also looks up to compatriot Neymar, whom he considers to be one of the finest in the world.

“I look a lot at Messi, who is a player I admire a lot. I watch videos of him and try to reproduce what he does on the pitch and sometimes it works. I have no words to describe him. Everything he does is phenomenal. How can I explain in words that everything he does is phenomenal, I always try to reproduce him on the pitch,” Willian said.

“I really like Neymar, who is also Brazilian and one of the best in the world. I also watch videos of him,” he added.

Willian has stated that he would like to play for Barcelona in the near future because he is a tremendous fan of the club. He described growing up watching Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez wreak havoc on opposing sides.

“To play for Barcelona, which is one of the best clubs in the world. I was born watching Neymar, Messi, and Suárez play for Barcelona and that’s the dream I have. I watch almost every Barça match, I’m a fan of the club. I have great admiration for the players who play there and I hope to be there too,” Willian said.

According to Fabrizio Romano, French giants PSG made an approach to Palmeiras in December to recruit Estevao Willian for €35 million.
