According to sources, Julian Alvarez is almost certain to land a surprise transfer to Atletico Madrid.

Alvarez and Atletico have been in advanced negotiations with the player’s camp and the club, as reported by The Athletic. They are getting close to a deal, and the ultimate amount has already been determined.
For a fee of 15 million euros, Manchester City signed him from River Plate in 2022. Since then, the 22-year-old has made 103 appearances for the team, contributing 18 assists and 36 goals.
Even though he plays on the bench for City, he is a vital member of the Argentina national team, having played in the team that won the Copa America twice and the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
Previous rumours had claimed that a number of English teams, notably Arsenal, were considering signing Alvarez. However, the squad was hesitant to add to their opponents considering the player’s skill and calibre.
