This is what Diego Maradona once told Pele about Leo Messi
Diego Maradona and Pele, the two greatest players in history of football. The Argentine and Brazilian had a good friendship, despite the fact that both belongs to rival teams.
Maradona’s death was the worst thing that happened in football history. Every sports fan gave him a huge tribute from the bottom of their heart.
But did you know the ‘one unexpected line’ that Maradona told Pele about Leo Messi? If you don’t, let us surprise you.
“Diego, do you know Messi personally” Pele enquired at a press event.
“Yes, yes, but…” replied Maradona.
“Is he a good person? I don’t know him, I know him from…” the Brazilian added.
“He is a good person, but he has no personality. He doesn’t have much personality, like how to be a leader,” Maradona bluntly said.
“Ah, I understand,” Pele exclaimed, “Like there were many [players like this] in our time.”
“Exactly, many players, many…” replied Maradona once again.
“In 1970, there was Rivelino. I was speaking about Messi, the Argentina of Messi. He said that Messi is a great player, there is no doubt, but he has no personality,” three time World Cup winner Pele finished saying.
Maradona really said that ‘Messi has no personality’! It’s not like Messi doesn’t have a personality. The GOAT is truly a smart guy on both field as well as in the outside world.
Will Messi win the World Cup before his retirement? The same goes for Cristiano Ronaldo. Both the GOATs haven’t won the World Cup trophy yet.
Hope one of them wins it this time!
