Liverpool might make £200 million if Mohamed Salah is sold to Saudi Arabia

Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia has informed Liverpool that they are willing to pay a world record £200 million for Mohamed Salah.

Okaz reported earlier today that a deal had been reached, with Arriyadiyah reporting that Salah is seriously considering a move to the Saudi Pro League. Al Riyadiah claims that two years of playing in the Middle East might earn him more than £150 million.

However, Liverpool appear to have rejected a £150 million transfer approach, with manager Jurgen Klopp dismissing the rumours recently.

According to Sky Sports, the Saudi Pro League is willing to pay £200 million to get Salah over, which could be enough to entice the Reds.

According to the Mail, Liverpool has began hunting for successors, and with a world-record sum to spend, the club could rebuild significantly if the move goes through.

The fee would almost match Neymar’s £198 million move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. This summer, the Brazilian also relocated to Saudi Arabia, ending his tenure in Ligue 1.

Liverpool are set to sign Ryan Gravenberch today but will almost certainly re-enter the market for another forward if Salah is sold.

A few months before signing his final Liverpool deal, the prolific goalscorer told FourFourTwo exclusively that “it’s not all about the money,” implying that the day he departs Liverpool will be bittersweet.

“This club means a lot to me – I’ve enjoyed my football here more than anywhere, I gave the club everything and it’s like a family here,” Salah told FFT.
