Lewis Hamilton (Full Name – Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton) is a British Formula One racing driver born on January 7, 1987 in Stevenage, England. His father’s name is Anthony Hamilton and mother’s name is Carmen Larbalestier.
Childhood
Lewis Hamilton’s parents divorced when he was still a baby. He however went on to live with his mother. After some years, he went on to live with his father and step-brother, Nicolas.
At the age of six, his father gifted him a remote control car after which his interest in car developed. He got fascinated with it and performed extraordinarily well in the local competitions.
Lewis father gifted him a go-kart as a Christmas present. He used to play football in school and wanted to become a footballer at some point in his life. But his go-kart championships victories offered him a better career choice.
He created an unbreakable record at the age of 15 in which he was named Karting number one player.
Career (Achievements Included)
In 2001, Lewis Hamilton started his racing career with ‘British Formula Renault Winter Series’. He finished fifth in the race, not to mention he had a crash during the event. He finished third in the 2002 ‘Formula Renault UK Campaign’.
In 2006, he participated in the ‘ART Grand Prix,’ where he gained a victory at the ‘GP2 Championship,’ racing against the likes of Timo Glock and Nelson Piquet.
Lewis made his F1 debut in 2007 at the ‘Australian Grand Prix,’ where he finished third despite a crash. He emerged a winner in the ‘Hungarian Grand Prix’ and finished fifth in the ‘Turkish Grand Prix.’
In 2008, he signed a four-year contract with ‘McLaren-Mercedes’. In the first race of the season, he ended up securing a victory in the ‘Australian Grand Prix.’ He won ‘Monaco Grand Prix’ and was the first runner-up in Turkey.
Later, Lewis scored a victory in the ‘British Grand Prix.’ He won the ‘Chinese Grand Prix’ and finished fourth in the ‘Brazil Grand Prix,’ to become the youngest ‘Formula One World Champion.’
By the end of the 2009 season, he added one more title to his cabinet by winning the ‘Singapore Grand Prix.’ A year later, he secured his first victory in the ‘Turkish Grand Prix’.
In the 2011 season, he finished second in the ‘Australian Grand Prix’ and got his first win of the season in the ‘Chinese Grand Prix.’ In the same season, he secured a victory in Abu Dhabi too.
In 2012, Lewis signed a contract with ‘Mercedes Benz Works Team’. Afetr having some average races, he achieved his first victory for ‘Mercedes’ by winning the ‘Hungarian Grand Prix.’
In 2014, Lewis achieved his first career hat-trick by winning three races consecutively. He later gained his fourth consecutive race with a win in Spain. In the Abu Dhabi event, he beat his own teammate Nico Rosberg by 67 points to emerge as the World Champion.
Hamilton started the 2015 season with a win in the ‘Australian Grand Prix.’ He then signed a three year contract with ‘Mercedes’ until the end of the 2018 season. By the end of the season, he had won the ‘United State Grand Prix’ to win his second ‘World Championship.’
In the 2016 season, he won the ‘British Grand Prix’. He however failed to claim his fourth ‘World Championship’ as he had lost to Rosberg.
Hamilton started the 2017 season with a win in the ‘Chinese Grand Prix’ and later won his first title win of the season. He won the ‘British,’ ‘Belgium,’ ‘Italy,’ and ‘Singapore Grand Prix,’ surpassing Michael Schumacher for the most pole positions of all time.
In 2017, he claimed his fourth ‘World Championship’ and won his first race of the season in Azerbaijan and then won in Spain later in 2018. He then extended his contract with ‘Mercedes’ for a period of two years prior to the ‘German Grand Prix.’
After a tough fight with Sebastian Vettel throughout the season, Hamilton won his fifth championship at the ‘Mexican Grand Prix.’ He also set a new record for most points scored in a season after his consecutive wins in Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

Lewis Hamilton was in a relationship with popular American singer Nicole Scherzinger. They finally announced their separation news in 2015. He currently lives in Monaco after shifting from Switzerland.
