Jimmy Anderson is considered as greatest of all time when it comes to batting. His name is equal to Sachin Tendulkar’s when it comes to cricket. His longevity and dedication allowed him to play for England for 22 years. He saw generations of England cricket passing during his career.
He is the time highest wicket-taker in England; he is the highest wicket-taker in tests among fast bowlers. Last year his dearest friend Stuart Broad retired from cricket and this year he decided to bid adieu to the beautiful game. Anderson said that the first game against West Indies on 10th July at Lords will be his last game for England.
Anderson was the first fast bowler to complete 700 wickets in tests recently against India. According to him the reason why he decided to take retirement is that he had a discussion with the coach Brendon McCullum who is looking to form a young and future-based pace attack for the England test team.
James Anderson said that his time is now over and he will let others fulfill their dreams as he did. Anderson is 41 years old and it is quite obvious that McCullum is looking towards young players for the upcoming World Test Championship cycles.
