India is struggling with a good problem of whom should they play as a wicketkeeper after some spectacular performances from the wicket-keepers in IPL 2024. There will be only two keepers going with the team and you do not want to be at BCCI’s place because there are plenty of options. In this article, we will tell you all the possible options for wicketkeepers for T20 World Cup 2024.
#1 Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson is the first choice if you look at the current form. He is batting brilliantly in IPL 2024 and winning matches for his team Rajasthan Royals. The problem with Sanju is his batting order as he bats in the top order and Team India wants a keeper who can bat in the middle order.
#2 Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant is another keeper on whom BCCI is keeping an eye. We all know he is a match-winner and understands how to play in big tournaments and pressure situations. He has been doing well since his return and in our opinion, he will be the first-choice keeper.
#3 Ishan Kishan
Mumbai Indians opener, Ishan Kishan is doing great as a batter for Mumbai Indians. As a keeper, he is looking decent but as a batter he is in top form, smashing bowlers around the park. Ishan Kishan is also a top-order batsman and there are also many options for openers.
#4 KL Rahul
KL Rahul is a senior player and as a captain and coach you wanted him in your side. He is a quality batter but in the past few years, his strike rate was a big issue in T20Is. As a wicketkeeper he is excellent and we saw Rahul doing great glove work in the 2023 World Cup. In our opinion, Rahul will be in India’s squad but as a batter.
#5 Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik is ticking all the boxes that are required. He is batting well, he is playing in the lower order, he is maintaining a very good strike rate, he is finishing games for RCB, and he is making his presence. Karthik played in the last T20 World Cup but in 2024 he again knocked on the doors of selection.

#6 Jitesh Sharma
Before IPL 2024 when players like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant were not there, it was Jitesh Sharma who was playing for India as a wicketkeeper. He was doing great behind the stumps and also doing well with the bat. It was looking like BCCI and management are seeing him as a wicketkeeper based on chances given to him but in IPL 2024, he is not looking in his best form.
