DOMESTIC CAREER
Shamar entered cricket profession by Romario shepherd introduced shepherd Joseph to Guyana cricket team, Joseph connect with Esuan Crandon, had coach of Guyana cricket team. After got chance Guyana team he started showing his skill, his debut figure of 6/13 in Division 1 cricket. Joseph took right wickets in trial game and eventually gain call up to first class cricket, also played club cricket for Muslim Youth Organization. He made his first class debut for Guyana against Barbados on 1 Feb 2023 during 2022-23 West Indies Championship.
Joseph has taken first career five wicket haul in first class cricket against Windward Island during 2022-23 West Indies Championship. Shamar has got chance in CPL 2023 for Guyana Amazon Warriors by his tremendous performance. During CPL he met prasanna Agoram, the talent Scout for Guyana Amazon Warriors, who encouraged Joseph to take his cricket career smoothly and seriously. He played. He played just 7 first class game till now and bag 34 wickets, four time bag five haul wickets in first class game.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
Shamar, hard work is pay off after his tremendous performance in domestic level he was maidan call up in West Indies test squad for Australia tour in December 2023. He made his test debut at Adelaide oval on 17 January 2024 in first test match against Australia and scored 36 runs off 41 balls. Joseph also registered one record to score highest individual run by any West Indian number 11 batsman on test debut. On 28th January 2024, Joseph picked up his second five – wicket haul in his second test match against Australia and his spell of 7/68 in 11.5 overs to helped West Indies to win test match in Australia after 27 years. Shamar earned man of the match award.

PERSONAL LIFE
Joseph was born in very poor family, didn’t have money to join cricket coaching center. Before joining cricket Joseph worked with his father in logging industries. Joseph, was worked as a labour. Also worked as security guard for 12 hours shifts. Eventually he decided to quite this job and resume his cricket ambition full time.
