Jacob Graham Bethell, born on October 23, 2003, in Barbados, is an emerging English cricketer known for his left-handed batting and slow left-arm orthodox bowling. He attended Harrison College in Barbados and later moved to England at the age of 12 after earning a scholarship to Rugby School, where he honed his cricketing skills under notable coaching. Domestic Career
Jacod made his debut for Warwickshire in the T20 Blast on June 20, 2021, and has since established himself as a talented all-rounder. Bethell signed a professional contract with Warwickshire in January 2021 and has participated in various formats, including List A and first-class cricket. His performances have drawn attention, leading to stints in The Hundred and other T20 leagues.
International Career
Bethell debuted for England’s T20 team on September 11, 2024, against Australia. He quickly made an impression by scoring a match-winning 44 runs in his second T20I. On November 28, 2024, he made his Test debut against New Zealand, scoring an impressive unbeaten 50 in the second innings, showcasing his potential as a key player for England going forward.
IPL 2024
In December 2024, Bethell was signed by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for INR 2.60 crore during the IPL 2025 auction. He expressed excitement about playing alongside cricketing great Virat Kohli, which he believes will greatly benefit his development as a player.
